Biography: Zack received his B.S. in chemistry with ACS endorsement from Hope College in 2006. From there he moved to the University of Michigan and obtained his M.S. (2008) and Ph.D. (2011) with John Montgomery, focusing on the development of sugar silane reagents which enable incorporating glycosides site-selectively into polyfunctional molecules. After completing his graduate studies, he accepted a position with the Discovery Chemistry group at Dow AgroSciences in Indianapolis, IN. He is currently an associate scientist working with the Natural Products Discovery Team. During his time at Dow AgroSciences he has also worked on two fungicide projects, been a co-inventor on 8 patents, co-lead a team of chemists focused on solving high value synthetic problems, and been heavily involved in recruiting Ph.D. chemists.
