Brent Martin is currently an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the University of Michigan. He received a B.S. degree in Molecular Biology and a PhD in Pharmacology from UC San Diego. His doctoral studies with Roger Tsien focused on genetically-encoded tags for correlated light and electron microscopy. As an NIH postdoctoral fellow and later K99 recipient, Dr. Martin trained with Benjamin Cravatt (Scripps) developing new inhibitors and quantitative proteomics methods targeting protein lipidation. The Martin lab is currently developing new methods to image, profile, and manipulate protein post-translational modifications, redox homeostasis, and growth signaling pathways.
